Digital Transformation, Suzhou's GDP Is Nearly 5 Trillion

The Suzhou Municipal Party Committee of Jiangsu Province recently revealed that the total output value of the local industries above designated size this year reached 4 trillion yuan (RMB the same below, about 4.9 trillion Hong Kong dollars), which is 13.3% and 7.8% higher than that of Shanghai and Shenzhen respectively. According to internal media reports, Suzhou City has basically locked in the title of "The First City of Industry" in the Mainland this year.

 

Suzhou City held a plenary meeting of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Party Committee Economic Work Conference on Tuesday. The meeting introduced that the local area is expected to complete about 2.2 trillion yuan (about 2.6 trillion Hong Kong dollars) of regional GDP this year. US dollars (about 290 million Hong Kong dollars), an increase of about 18% year-on-year.

At the same time, Suzhou has also vigorously promoted intelligent transformation and digital transformation, and the industrial energy level has been continuously improved, and the total output value of industries above designated size has reached a new level of 4 trillion yuan for the first time.

In recent years, the cities of Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Suzhou have competed fiercely for the title of "The First City of Industry" in China. Last year, Shenzhen’s total industrial output value above designated size reached 3.7 trillion yuan (approximately HK$4.5 trillion), ranking first since it surpassed Shanghai for the first time in 2019; Shanghai and Suzhou respectively received 3.483 billion yuan (approximately HK$4,264.7 billion), 3482.4 billion yuan (approximately HK$4,263.9 billion) followed closely behind. In the first three quarters of this year, Suzhou's total industrial output value of 3,053 billion yuan (about 3,679.8 billion Hong Kong dollars) surpassed Shanghai's 2,822.9 billion yuan (about 3,456.6 billion Hong Kong dollars), a year-on-year increase of 20.5%.
