Victoria reaches 70% vaccination rate, relaxes epidemic prevention order

From yesterday, Victoria has designated the Greater Sydney area of the new province as an orange area, and the rest of the area is a green area. Passengers in the orange area can apply for permission to enter Victoria, while those who have not been vaccinated must be quarantined after arriving in Victoria until the test result proves that there is no confirmed diagnosis; as for those in the green area, they can apply for permission directly without isolation. However, passengers travelling from Melbourne to Sydney still need to be quarantined at home for two weeks; passengers travelling from Broken Hill, New Province to Shepperton, Victoria do not need to apply for any permits.

Victoria recorded 1,841 local confirmed cases and 12 epidemic cases yesterday. 68% of the population in the province completed two doses of vaccination. The provincial government intends to lift Melbourne's lockdown order when the vaccination rate reaches 70% on Friday. Weimar, the director of the Victorian Anti-epidemic, predicts that the target of 70% vaccination rate can be achieved yesterday, and it is believed that the province's epidemic prevention restrictions can be relaxed at 11:59 this evening.

The Governor of Western Australia, McGowan, announced that a number of jobs will be compulsory to be vaccinated against the new crown, including supermarkets, bars, restaurants, post offices and other employees, accounting for approximately 75% of the province’s 1.4 million labor force. If the relevant employees are not vaccinated before the deadline, both employers and employees will face huge fines.
